Answers, References & Explanations
Here
are the answers to the quiz! Each one includes the correct answer, the complete
reference verse from the Bible (NIV version), and a simple explanation to help
you understand the story better.
1.
Answer: Six days.
Reference: Genesis 1:31 - God saw all that
he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was
morning—the sixth day.
Explanation: God created everything in the
world over six days, from light and sky to animals and people. On the seventh
day, He rested because His work was complete and perfect.
2.
Answer: Light.
Reference: Genesis 1:3-5 - And God said,
“Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and
he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the
darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the
first day.
Explanation: On the very first day, God
spoke light into existence and separated it from the darkness, creating day and
night. This shows God's power to bring order out of nothing.
3.
Answer: The sixth day.
Reference: Genesis 1:26-31 - Then God said,
“Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over
the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the
wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God
created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and
female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and
increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea
and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the
ground.” Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the
whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours
for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and
all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of
life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. God saw all that
he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was
morning—the sixth day.
Explanation: On the sixth day, God made
people in His own image to care for the earth and all its creatures. This was
the final part of creation before God rested.
4.
Answer: Adam.
Reference: Genesis 2:7 - Then the Lord God
formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Explanation: God shaped the first man, Adam,
from the dust and gave him life by breathing into him. Adam was the beginning
of all humanity.
5.
Answer: Eve.
Reference: Genesis 2:21-22 - So the Lord God
caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took
one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord
God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her
to the man.
Explanation: God created Eve from one of
Adam's ribs so that Adam would have a companion. Together, they were the first
husband and wife.
6.
Answer: The Garden of Eden.
Reference: Genesis 2:15 - The Lord God took
the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Explanation: The Garden of Eden was a
beautiful, perfect place full of trees and rivers where Adam (and later Eve)
lived in harmony with God and nature.
7.
Answer: The serpent.
Reference: Genesis 3:1-6 - Now the serpent
was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to
the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the
garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in
the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in
the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You
will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that
when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,
knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good
for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she
took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and
he ate it.
Explanation: The sneaky serpent (who was
Satan in disguise) lied to Eve, making her doubt God's words, which led to her
and Adam eating the forbidden fruit and bringing sin into the world.
8.
Answer: Cain and Abel.
Reference: Genesis 4:1-2 - Adam made love to
his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With
the help of the Lord I have brought forth a man.” Later she gave birth to his
brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.
Explanation: Cain was the older brother and
a farmer, while Abel was a shepherd. Their story teaches us about jealousy and
doing what's right in God's eyes.
9.
Answer: Noah.
Reference: Genesis 6:13-14 - So God said to
Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with
violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with
pitch inside and out.
Explanation: Noah was a good man who obeyed
God. He built a huge boat called an ark to save his family and animals from the
flood that God sent to cleanse the earth of wickedness.
10.
Answer: A rainbow.
Reference: Genesis 9:13 - I have set my
rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and
the earth.
Explanation: After the flood, God promised
Noah that He would never destroy the earth with water again, and the rainbow is
a beautiful reminder of that promise every time it appears.
